Ridley Scott’s next feature as producer, The Aftermath, is gearing up to shoot in Prague and Hamburg early next year.
The period drama is based on Rhidian Brook’s novel of the same name, with a screenplay by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse.
Set in Hamburg in 1946, it centres on a British military family assigned to the city as post-war reconstruction gets underway. They live in a requisitioned house with its German owner and his troubled daughter – a situation which soon leads to rising tensions.
Reportedly due to star Keira Knightley, Alexander Skarsgard and Jason Clarke, the film comes from Scott Free Productions and is directed by James Kent.
Scott has been busy in Australia and New Zealand for much of this year, working on the Prometheus follow-up Alien: Covenant starring Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston, and is among the producing team on Kenneth Branagh’s starry Murder on the Orient Express, filming in the UK now.
