Technicolor will help expand Montreal’s visual effects sector by opening a new facility for its Mill Film brand in Quebec this summer.
The new office will focus on providing visual effects for streaming and episodic content.
Quebec offers incentive support for visual effects work in addition to its base film and TV tax credit.
Recent high-profile productions to have shot in the eastern Canadian province have included the Amazon drama series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick action movies (pictured) and multiple entries in the X-Men franchise.
The new Mill Film office comes just a few months after the announcement that Technicolor would be opening a separate Mill Film facility in Adelaide following the expansion of South Australia’s visual effects incentive.
See KFTV's production guide for more on filming in Quebec.
