Richard Gere will co-star in BBC drama MotherFatherSon, which will film in Spain and London this summer.
Gere will play a wealthy business tycoon whose multinational empire is threatened by the wayward behaviour of his son, who is being primed to take over from his father. Helen McCrory and Billy Howle will co-star.
MortherFatherSon is written by Tom Rob Smith and produced by BBC Studios Drama London.
The BBC has considerable experience filming in Spain, with the country having been a regular production location for shows like Doctor Who.
Majorca in the Spanish Balearics became a key location for popular miniseries The Night Manager, doubling the island for multiple European countries.
Spain’s filming incentive support has helped raise the country’s production profile in Europe and the country has been a regular host for Game of Thrones in recent years.
