Dwayne Johnson’s action movie Hobbs and Shaw, the first spinoff from the hugely successful Fast & Furious franchise, will film in the UK later this year with co-star Jason Statham also on board.
Johnson’s Hobbs character has recurred in the last four Fast & Furious movies and has been credited as a major reason for the franchise becoming the international box-office juggernaut it has become in recent years.
Statham’s Shaw has also successfully recurred in the Fast & Furious movies and the new spinoff film will see the pair team up on their own against a new threat.
Production will begin in the UK later this year with Deadpool 2 filmmaker David Leitch directing.
Johnson will shoot Hobbs and Shaw once he has wrapped on Disney’s Jungle Cruise, which recently started production in Hawaii.
See KFTV's production guide for more on filming in the UK.
