Clint Eastwood has started filming his new movie The Mule that will shoot mainly in US production hubs Georgia and New Mexico.
The filmmaker also stars in the story of a lonely octogenarian who starts working, initially unwittingly, as a drug mule for a Mexican cartel, and then becomes conflicted as he faces up to past transgressions.
It is Eastwood’s first acting role since Gran Torino nearly ten years ago.
Eastwood co-stars in The Mule with Bradley Cooper, marking a reunion for the pair who worked together to great success on the Oscar-winning military biopic American Sniper.
Georgia is one of America’s main production hubs for big-budget studio features and has become a regular base for Marvel’s superhero films.
Eastwood has worked there before in recent years, having shot scenes locally for The 15:17 to Paris and his airline pilot movie Sully.
New Mexico is the most popular part of the US for desert story settings and is an easy double for Mexico.
