Filming on the next James Bond movie, currently known as Bond 25, will now begin at Pinewood Studios on 4 March next year.
The movie, likely to be Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic super-spy, is currently in pre-production.
Filming was original scheduled to start in December but the shoot was delayed when original director Danny Boyle departed the project.
Cary Joji Fukunaga will now direct. The filmmaker is best known for the acclaimed first season of TV drama True Detective and is also behind current Netflix series Maniac.
“We are delighted to be working with Cary,” said Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the Bond franchise. “His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure.”
The new film will be Craig’s fifth Bond movie, having first come to the role in 2006 with Casino Royale, and will be released in February 2020.
Craig will spend the next few months in Massachusetts shooting murder mystery feature Knives Out with director Rian Johnson before starting work on Bond.
