Monster movie Godzilla vs Kong has started filming and will shoot scenes in Hawaii, as well as in Queensland, Australia.

The film will be the latest in Warner Bros’ ‘MonsterVerse’ franchise and pitches iconic monsters Godzilla and King Kong against each other for the first time.

Kong: Skull Island previously spent six weeks shooting in Hawaii and generated over $70m in regional economic activity.

The Pacific US state is a popular filming location, particularly for movies and TV shows with jungle settings such as the Jurassic World franchise.

Godzilla vs Kong will benefit from Australia’s Location Offset incentive support for its Queensland shoot.
