The latest instalment in the action movie series Fast & Furious is setting up to film in the UK next year.
Director Justin Lin – who was at the helm of three previous features in the high-octane film series – returns to call the shots from a screenplay by Daniel Casey and Chris Morgan. Little is known about which of the regular cast members will return alongside Vin Diesel.
Spinoff feature Hobbs and Shaw, which centres on the two characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, began filming in the UK in September.
The feature has taken in locations including Glasgow, where a high-speed car chase was shot, and is also using Eggborough power station in Yorkshire.
Inward investment projects make up a huge part of the UK production spend. By early November this year, the BFI reported that more than £1bn of an overall £1.5bn had been generated in 2018 by inward investment projects with major Disney live-action features among the regular contributors.
