Avengers stars to film gothic western in Alabama
Avengers actors Tom Holland and Chris Evans are among the ensemble cast of a new ‘mid-western gothic’ feature set to film in Alabama for Netflix.
Based on a novel by Donald Ray Pollock and set across a 20-year timeframe, The Devil All the Time tells the story of an Ohio man who resorts to extreme actions to save his dying wife, and how his decisions affect his son.
Filmmaker Antonio Campos is a Netflix veteran, having previously directed episodes of murder drama The Sinner and Marvel series The Punisher.
Alabama is overshadowed as a filming location by neighbouring national production hub Georgia. The state does offer a 25% rebate as filming incentive support, but it is aimed at low-budget shoots, with an overall annual film fund of just $20m.
