International crime drama Cold Courage is filming on location across northern Europe and the Nordic regions.
The eight-part series is for Scandinavia's Viaplay streaming service and takes aim at populist politics and the fake news era with the story of two Finnish women who are drawn to a clandestine group specialising in delivering justice to those who appear to be otherwise beyond the law.
Filming locations include Dublin, London, Antwerp, Helsinki and the Kainuu region of Finland.
Pihla Viitala and Sofia Pekkari – from Finland and Sweden respectively – are starring, while British actor John Simm has a role as a rowdy politician.
Cold Courage is based on novels by Finnish writer Pekka Hiltunen and is being made by Swedish company MTG Studios. Markku Flink at Finland’s Luminoir is producing, along with A Private View, in Belgium, Vico Films of Ireland and Iceland’s Sagafilm.
The drama will be distributed internationally by Lionsgate, according to a Variety report.
