Filmmaker Taylor Sheridan is set to shoot survival thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead in New Mexico with Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Hoult, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The movie follows a Montana firefighter who must protect a ten-year-old murder witness from brutal killers and a wildfire.
BRON Studios and Film Rites are producing.
Sheridan is a veteran of gritty crime stories set in the south-west US, having written the Sicario films and the Texas-set Hell or High Water. His last feature as director was Wind River, which charted a murder investigation in the Wyoming wilderness, but filmed in Utah.
New Mexico locations were previously used for Joseph Kosinski’s true-life 2017 film Only the Brave, which followed a team of elite firefighters in Arizona.
New Mexico has boosted its annual film fund to ramp up its appeal as a US production hub.
