The Invisible Man begins shoot in Sydney

The Invisible Man has started shooting in Sydney, Australia, confirmed the film’s director Leigh Whannell on Twitter.

The movie is inspired by Universal Pictures’ classic 1933 movie about an insane see-through scientist, which itself was based on H.G. Wells' science fiction novel.

Whannell is writing, directing and executive producing the thriller, following his success with the 2018 sci-fi film Upgrade. The producers are Jason Blum for his Blumhouse Productions and Kylie du Fresne for Goalpost Pictures. The film is a co-production from Goalpost Pictures Australia and Blumhouse Productions, in association with Nervous Tick for Universal Pictures.

The cast includes Haunting of Hill House’s Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the lead role, alongside Elisabeth Moss, Harriet Dyer, Aldis Hodge and Storm Reid.

Universal has set a 13 March release date.
