Netflix starts production on Mumbai-set generational drama Tribhanga

Seeking to expand its slate of features in India, Netflix announced on Thursday (10) that production has begun on Tribhanga, a generational family drama starring female leads Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar.

Taking its name from the asymmetrical dance pose, Tribhanga weaves together the lives of three women spanning the late 1980s to present day and underscores the value of family in everyday life.

Roy Kapoor will also appear in pivotal roles in the Mumbai-set film, which veteran actress Renuka Shahane directs from her screenplay. Ajay Devgn Ffilms is the producer along with Bannijay Asia and Alchemy Productions.

Ajay Devgn launched Ajay Devgn Ffilms in 2000 and the company’s credits include Raju Chacha, Bol Bachchan, Son Of Sardaar, Singham Returns, and Shivaay. Coming in 2020 is Tanhaji.

Bannijay Asia’s TV credits include Hostages, and Nach Baliye 9, while Alchemy Productions founded by Sapna and Siddharth P Malhotra has worked in film and TV on titles such as Hichki, Haasil, and Kaafir.
