German outfit MMC Holding has announced the appointments of Hacik Kölcü and Jens Wolf to their management team, as Crosscast buys 100% shares in the group.
MMC Holding owns MMC Studios, which operates the Coloneum studio complex in Cologne, Germany, one of the largest and most modern studio lots in Europe with 20 TV studios and soundstages.
Wolf and Kölcü will be responsible for expanding the MMC Group’s footprint in the German market, through studio rental and production, post-production and stage and set construction. There will be a particular focus on new production methods, technology partnerships and development in the outside broadcast business.
“With Crosscast, we have established innovative and very successful concepts in outside broadcasting in recent years, such as flight case and smart/reality productions,” said Wolf, who is now responsible for studio productions.
Kölcü added: “In addition to classic TV production, we will evolve as an innovative production service provider for studio productions and outside broadcasts. This is the path Crosscast and MMC will jointly venture on in the future.”
Furthermore, MMC Movies Köln GmbH, the film production arm of MMC, will be jointly managed by Jens Wolf and Bastie Griese, with the goal of using new attractive financing models to realize co-productions.
Following the successful restructuring of MMC, managing director, Philip Borbély, will leave the company, as planned.
