A new WWII film starring Colin Firth will film in London from December.

Operation Mincemeat is from See-Saw Films and Cohen Media Group with Archery Pictures.

Director John Madden will be calling the shots from a screenplay by Michelle Ashford, based on a book by Ben Macintyre of the same name.

Based on real-life events, the story centres on two intelligence officers who used a dead body and false papers to outwit German troops in 1943.

The producers are See-Saw’s Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, Archery Pictures’ Kris Thykier and Charles S. Cohen.

Firth is coming off the back of Supernova, a feature he filmed recently for The Bureau in Cumbria with Stanley Tucci.
