George Miller's Three Thousand Years of Longing to film in Australia from March

Oscar-winner George Miller is set to shoot the film Three Thousand Years of Longing, starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba, in Australia, London and Istanbul from March 2020.

Miller is writing and directing the original film, as well as producing alongside his regular collaborator Doug Mitchell. Exact details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but it is expected to be a love story. FilmNation is handling international sales.

Miller’s last film, Mad Max: Fury Road, was a critical and awards hit for Warner Bros in 2015, gaining six Oscar wins and $380m at the box office worldwide. A follow up is being prepared with the working title The Wasteland, starring Tom Hardy and Ahmed Adel.
