Production set to resume in Poland

The Polish government has announced that, as part of its latest stage of easing the Covid-19 restrictions, film and TV production can resume in the country with certain conditional safety precautions.

According to the recommendations, all those on set should wear masks, apart from actors, due to their necessary characterisation, hair and make-up etc. It is suggested that cast stay distanced from crew.

Other guidelines refer to limiting the number of people on set and to arrange crew in such a way as to avoid large clusters, and to move around within separate zones.

Poland is a robust international filming hub; it launched an attractive 30% incentive in early 2019, although the current limitations on international travel to the country mean that it will be domestic productions that benefit from the resumption of film shoots for the immediate future.

The Polish Producers Alliance recently launched a support fund, instigated with a donation of around €550,000 from Netflix.
