The UK shoot on Tom Cruise action vehicle Mission: Impossible 7 is on hold until June 14 after a member of the production tested positive for Covid-19.
“We have temporarily halted production on Mission: Impossible 7 until June 14th, due to positive coronavirus test results during routine testing. We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation,” read a statement from the production on Thursday (June 3).
Production on the latest episode in the $3.57bn worldwide franchise had already been delayed by several months last year, when the Italian lockdown stopped the Venice segment of production in February 2020.
There was a second pause in October when members of the production in Italy tested positive for the virus.
Cruise, who also serves as producer, made headlines last December after a recording leaked of him shouting at crew members for breaching Covid protocols.
Skydance is co-producing Mission: Impossible 7, scheduled to open theatrically in the US over the Memorial Day holiday weekend on May 27, 2022. Christopher McQuarrie directs.
