Lamborghini biopic filming in Italy

Filming is underway in Emilia Romagna and Rome on biopic film Lamborghini, starring Frank Grillo as the sports car's founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.

The AMBI Group is financing, producing and distributing the project, which has been in development since 2014. Oscar winner Bobby Moresco (Crash) has written the screenplay and is directing.

The film is based on Ferruccio Lamborghini: La Storia Ufficiale (The Official Story), the biography written by his son Tonino Lamborghini, which charts the long life of the celebrated entrepreneur from the manufacturing of tractors at the start of his career to creating military vehicles during World War II and then on to designing and building the iconic Lamborghini luxury sports cars.

Gabriel Byrne will play Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini's rival, and Mira Sorvino plays Annita, Lamborghini's second wife.

The producers are Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi and Danielle Maloni for Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment. Bret Saxon and Jeffrey Bowler are executive producers.
