Brad Pitt and French music composer Damien Quintard, will relaunch the French iconic recording studio Miraval Studios as an exclusive film and music production and post-production facility, for a summer opening in 2022.

The studio, established in 1977 by French jazz pianist and composer Jacques Loussier, is located in the vineyard estate, Château Miraval, spanning 1,235 acres of land. It has recorded the albums of Pink Floyd, Sting, The Cure, Sade, The Cranberries, and AC/DC.

Pitt and Angelina Jolie leased the land in Château Miraval in 2008, with Jolie selling 50% of her stake of the property last year, following their divorce.

The studio, which has been out of operation since the early 2000s, will be completely redesigned by the pair. The facility will include hybrid analog/digital capacities, a Dolby Atmos system, technology for pre-mixing for film and television projects, recording booths, vintage synthesizers, and sound and video-editing workstations.

Quintard said: “It is the honour of a lifetime not only to be co-founding the rebirth of one of the most iconic recording studios that recorded Pink Floyd, Wham!, AC/DC, Sting etc but also to have Brad Pitt as a Partner."

“Truly touched by Brad's trust in me and grateful for the support of all my fantastic team and entourage without whom nothing would ever be possible.”
