The upcoming action-thriller Deep Six, starring Tom Welling (Smallville), is reportedly set to shoot in  Rome in April.

Deep Six is produced by The Motus Studios - based in Los Angeles and Italy - with Emanuele Moretti attached as producer.

The film, written and directed by Scott Windhauser, follows ex-convict Terry, who is released early from prison only to be forced to go undercover with a six-man unit to take down the Cosa Nostra in Italy. On his first day on the job, the whole unit is killed with Terry left as the only remaining survivor.

Terry must then go on a drive-along with a psychopath killer and come face to face with the men he was tasked to spy on, who may know he is working for the police.

The cast also stars Cam Gigandet , Sidhartha Mallya, Cher Cosenza, Al Linea and Alessia Alciati.

Jordan Dykstra, Len Gibson, Wayne Overstreet and John Real will exec produce the feature, with David Guglielmo to serve as associate producer.

Italy is a popular filming location and will also host the second season of the HBO series The White Lotus in Sicily this spring.
