Feria de Valladolid and Spain Film Commission have announced its second edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace (SLM), which will be held on 20 and 22 October this year.
The event serves audiovisual industry professionals, location scouts, filming destinations and service companies who benefit from a programme pre-arranged interviews with like-minded individuals.
Last year, SLM saw over 700 interviews take place and given the success of its inaugural event, organisers will maintain the structure and bolster its international outreach.
In a statement, general manager of the Valladolid Trade Fair, Alberto Alonso said: “[SLM] is a global project; we want Valladolid to be an essential date in the agenda of professionals whose work scenario is anywhere in the world”.
President of Spain Film Commission (SFC), Carlos Rosado reflected on the success of last year’s event and shared his ambition for the second edition. “The experience of the first edition encourages us to continue collaborating in this project. SFC not only competes to attract film shoots, but also to make Spain an international benchmark for the entire industry, in line with the objectives of the Spanish Audiovisual Hub.
“We are confident that SLM will be a must-attend event for professionals and audiovisual production companies and that we will face new challenges,” he added.
Describing the first edition as a “resounding success”, U.S. location scout Lori Balton noted the event’s “innovative format” and Covid safety protocol. “It was great to reconnect with colleagues and make the most of the trips to learn about possible future locations,” she said.
