Netflix thriller Heart of Stone, starring Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot, is set to film in Portugal this summer.
The plot of the film, from Skydance Media, is very much under wraps, with The Aeronauts director Tom Harper calling the shots from a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder.
The producing line-up includes Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, Gadot and Varsano for Pilot Wave and Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis of Mockingbird.
Gadot is also preparing to play two famous women – she will portray Egyptian queen Cleopatra in a biopic to be directed by Kari Skogland as well as taking on the role of well-known actor Hedy Lamarr, who became involved in WWII by pioneering the technology that would go on to form the basis for wi-fi and Bluetooth as we know them today.
The latest instalment of Universal’s hugely popular franchise series, Fast & Furious 10 (Fast X), starring Vin Diesel, is also expected to shoot in Portugal, according to local media reports. Filming is to take place in the northern and central regions of Portugal – Viseu and Vila Real - as well as Lisbon, according to Portugal Resident.
Previous high-profile films and TV series to shoot in Portugal include HBO's House of the Dragon series, Lionsgate's The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard and SpectreVision's Color Out of Space, starring Nicolas Cage.
