Sony and Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man spin-off film, Madame Web, is shooting in Boston from 11 July until September, according to Production Weekly.

Filming will also take place in New York and Mexico

Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson (50 Shades of Grey franchise) in the lead as the clairvoyant mutant, alongside Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Isabela Merced (Dora the Explorer, 2019), Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian) and Celeste O'Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).

The spin-off is directed by S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders) and is being produced by Di Bonaventura Pictures's Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers series), Erik Howsam (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Snake Eyes), Marvel Studio boss Kevin Feige and Sony's executive VP Palak Patel. 

Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and writer-director Kerem Sanga (First Girl I Loved) will jointly write the screenplay.

Madame Web will be released in July, 2023.
