Vanessa Paradis and Nina Hoss are set to star in the English and French-language period thriller Trespassers, the third feature from French director Vanessa Filho, best known for Angel Face.
The film tells the true story of Lucy Schwob and Suzanne Malherbe – two surrealist artists, who worked under the pseudonyms Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore. The women were stepsisters and lovers, and launched the campaign of resistance against the Nazi occupation of the island of Jersey – a self-governing dependency of the British crown – during the Second World War.
It is written by Jonathan Socrates. The UK’s Mirror Productions and Giles Foreman Films are co-producing with France’s FullDawa Films, with support from the government of Jersey. The UK producers are Evangelo Kioussis and Giles Foreman. The French producers are Gaël Cabouat and Boris Mendza.
It is expected to shoot in the spring of 2023 in Jersey and France.
Filho’s debut feature, Angel Face, premiered at Cannes in 2018. She has just completed filming her second feature, Le Consentement.
