Michael Bay is expected to return as director for the fourth instalment

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have announced a fourth sequel in the Bad Boys film franchise.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (31 Jan), Smith shared a self-recorded reunion video of himself alongside Lawrence, who revealed the fourth instalment is officially in pre-production; and captioned the video: “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”
In the reel, Smith can be seen driving to (Lawrence’s) home saying, “Yo, I’ve got an announcement. Y’all better stop scrolling.” As a hint, the actor plays the opening bars of 'Shake Ya Tailfeather,' Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee’s song from the 2003 Bad Boys II soundtrack. “I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me,“ he interjects.
Arriving at his co-star's door, the duo announces that Bad Boys 4 is officially on the way, to which Lawrence exclaims: “It’s about that time!”
“Bad boys for life baby,” Smith adds.
According to IMDb, Michael Bay is expected to return as director for the fourth instalment, with filming locations to be announced as the feature moves into production stage. Bad Boys 3 (Bad Boys for Life) filmed in Miami, Florida; Mexico City; and Atlanta, Georgia.
The untitled sequel is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman; with Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serving as executive producers.
