Belgium's A Team Production gets big investment from London's Fremantle

London based Fremantle has taken a majority share in A Team Productions, a Belgian production company founded in 2009. 

Headed by Kobe van Steenberghe and Hendrik Verthé, A Team Productions joins a growing roster of international production companies that Fremantle now has majority stake in. They include Italian production company Lux Vide, international development and production company Fabel, Australian-American television production company Eureka Productions, and Israel's Silvio Productions. 

Fremantle also have stakes in 12 production labels in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark from Nordic Entertainment Group (This is Nice Group), the Irish production company Element Pictures and UK based 72 Films.

Fremantle itself is owned by Germany’s RTL, and have targeted £2.6bn revenues by 2025 which it is on track to hit given they recently reported turnover of £2bn in its most recent financial year.

“After intense preliminary discussions we have a very good feeling about the experienced Fremantle team including Georgette Schlick, Claud Van Gessel, Manon Van Der Hoek, Dave Heuten and Annemieke van Vliet as driving forces of the European market,” the two A Team co-chiefs said in a statement.
