Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films (Love Aaj Kal, Hindi Medium) is prepping production in the UK for Akshay Kumar's upcoming aviation drama Sky Force.

After shooting stunt scenes for his upcoming action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in Scotland earlier this year, Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar (Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi) will return to the UK this May for his next feature, Sky Force, with filming expected to wrap end May.

Sky Force sees Kumar play an officer of the Indian Air Force. It is a historical drama with a strong aviation theme that revisits and celebrates one of the Indian Air Force's greatest successes.

Kumar will team up with Vijan for the first time, following collaborations with Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon. According to Indian outlet Pinkvilla, Sky Force will also introduce a fresh face to the Hindi film industry.

“It has Akshay Kumar as an Indian Air Force Officer and he will be joined by a newcomer playing his junior. The film has an interesting track of mentor and protegee, side by side all the action and drama,” said the report.

Meanwhile, for Ali Abbas Zafar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which co-stars Tiger Shroff, it has placed the production on a global scale with a filming schedule that includes the UAE, India, London, Scotland, Austrian Alps and Saudi Arabia.

Both Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sky Force are slated for release in 2024.
