Brian Cox's new movie Little Wing will begin production in the US city of Portland, Oregon this month.
The film is inspired by the New Yorker article of the same name by Susan Orlean, and tells the story of Kaitlyn (Brooklynn Prince) a 13-year-old girl who is reeling from her parents’ divorce and the pending loss of her home.
She hopes to solve her family’s financial woes by stealing a valuable racing pigeon but instead forms a bond with the owner who cultivates her love of the sport.
Cox plays Jaan, the pigeon racer, with Kelly Reilly as Kaitlyn’s mom Maddie, and Che Tafari as her classmate and friend, Adam.
It was written by John Gatins, and is being directed and executive produced by Dean Israelite, for whom this film has been 10-year in the making passion project.
John Gatins and Naomi Despres serve as producers, with Karen Rosenfelt, Donald De Line, Susan Orlean, Brian Cox, Don Dunn and Liz Brandenburg all Executive Producers.
