The third instalment of Paramount Picture's Sonic the Hedgehog live-action feature is set to start filming in the UK this August.
According to Production List, the studio has set a production start date for August 31 and also confirms filming will take place in London.
Jeff Fowler returns to direct the threequel from a screenplay penned by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. It is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Hajime Satomi, Toby Ascher, Tim Miller, Nan Morales, and Toru Nakahara.
Further details about its plot and characters are still closely guarded, however Ben Schwartz is expected to reprise his voice role as the titular blue-furred hot rod.
It follows the original 2020 and 2022 action-adventure comedy film adaptation based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise by Sega. The first film was directed by Fowler in his directorial debut and written by Casey and Miller.
Alongside Schwartz, the films also featured the voice talents of Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, as well as James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.
The third instalment to the blockbuster adventure franchise is currently slated for December 20, 2024 theatrical release.
