Jamie Lee Curtis has hinted at the production schedule for Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming sequel to 2003's comedy Freaky Friday.

Last weekend, stars of the upcoming Haunted Mansion remake — Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson and LaKeith Stanfield — walked around Disneyland, California to promote their film.

While answering some questions with her Haunted Mansion co-stars, Curtis revealed that Walt Disney Pictures would be filming the sequel in 2024.

Curtis then clarified that filming would begin next year because Lohan, who is also reprising her role, “is having a baby [this] October.”

In May, it was reported that the fantasy- comedy would be getting a sequel, with both Lohan and Curtis expected to reprise their roles as the film's mother-daughter duo.

The 2003 original centred on Tess (Curtis) and her daughter, Anna (Lohan), perpetually at odds. Things take a turn when, in a freak incident at a Chinese restaurant, their bodies are switched and they are forced to live each other's lives.

It was directed by Mark Waters and written by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon. Filming took place in California.

Plot details and further cast announcements for Freaky Friday 2 will be announced in due course.
