Mohanlal's Vrushabha to shoot in India and UK

Mohanlal is set to film his multilingual Indian action film Vrushabha in the UK and India this month.

Directed by Nanda Kishore, Vrushabha, is an action entertainer, described by the Drishyam actor as "one of his career’s biggest films in terms of scale, budget, and reach" (via Gulf News).

Vrushabha centres on the conflict between two emotions that run the world – love vs revenge. Mohanlal will play the role of a father.

This film is being touted as Mohanlal’s Baahubali, the film which released in two parts and broke all box-office records in India, and engendered an impressive interest in South Indian films.

During an interview with the outlet, Mohanlal also spoke about the shift in how South Indian movies are being perceived on a global scale. “There’s a big change in South Indian films … ‘Drishyam’ created a huge stir and impact and most of India has watched it,” he had said. “Pictures like RRR’, ‘Vikram Vedha’, ‘Pushpa’ and ‘KGF’ have created noise … And that’s a positive development. Pan-Indian films have a lot of scope.”

Vrushabha will be made in several South Indian languages.

Indian television's Ekta Kapoor-led Balaji Telefilms is partnering with Connekkt Media, AVS Studios, and Dubai-based producer Praveer Singh for the feature.
