Vancouver’s McLean Group of Companies announced is selling its film and TV studio assets to an affiliate of LA-based Hackman Capital Partners, who specialise in commercial, industrial and studio properties.
Vancouver Film Studios has 13 sound stages and its affiliate, Pacific Backlot, serves the film and TV industry with lighting, grip and other production equipment.
Projects like Deadpool, The Flash and Yellowjackets have used Vancouver Film Studios.
The McClean Group, a family-run company, said in a statement that Vancouver Film Studios will continue to operate as an independent film and television studio under the new owners.
Vancouver Film Studios' facilities include 13 purpose-built sound stages, additional buildings dedicated to warehouses, mills, office space, a private gym and other film-related needs.
All 13 purpose-built sound stages feature acoustical insulation, 16×16 sound doors, and tilt-up construction.
Hackman Capital Partners' portfolio consists of of 19 production campuses, including studios in development, features more than 145 active sound stages and over 60 stages planned for construction.
In addition to recently acquired Vancouver Film Studios, these include The Culver Studios, Radford Studio Center, Television City Studios, MBS Media Campus, Raleigh Studios, and Saticoy Studios in Los Angeles; Silvercup Studios and Kaufman Astoria Studios in New York; Second Line Stages in New Orleans; Ardmore Studios and Troy Studios in Ireland; The Wharf London, Wardpark Studios, Cardington Studios and Pyramids Studios in the UK.
