The newly formed Australian Location Managers Guild is inviting locations professionals, as well as screen industry colleagues, to apply to become members online.

The guild's aim is to build an experienced and well-connected network to assist in the growing demand in the production space in Australia.

Per the Australian Screen Production Incentive, Australia's 23/24 budget increased location offset to 30%, while Screen Australia also launched an initiative to support and train professionals particularly in the locations department.

The ALMG said the increased demand to service large productions across Australia and new initiatives to boost industry roles – particularly in the below-the-line capacity, with a focus on training skilled professionals to work in departments such as locations – has necessitated the creation of a group that can assist in driving the development of this sector and help train and nurture professionals (via c21media).

The ALMG will be seeking collaboration with other industry associations like, The Australian Production Design Guild, to elevate the locations profession and provide new perspectives about the filmmaking process.
