The Saudi Film Commission has announced a new industry event, the Saudi Film Confex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to run from October 1-4 this year.

The Saudi Film Confex will highlight exciting developments in the Saudi and international film industries. The three main topics at the exhibition are: film trends, global practices and challenges, and opportunities in filmmaking.

It will feature curated workshops, 50 keynote speakers, and six interactive zones each curated around a specific theme.

The zones include a Business Zone for meetings and partnership opportunities, a destination Gallery to showcase unique shooting locations in Saudi, an Experience Zone that will highlight recent developments and trends in filmmaking, an Innovation Zone displaying cutting-edge technology and new product concepts, the Inspirational Zone where creators will share their journeys and trends in the industry and the Interactive Activities Zone which is focused on empowering budding filmmakers by providing interactive platforms and new technologies to support their talent.

Visitors will get a glimpse of the cutting-edge technology and innovations in production, post-production and distribution.

Movies like Kandahar, starring Gerard Butler, was predominantly shot in AlUla and The Kingdom is experiencing an increased interest in its entertainment capacity and offerings.
