Kareena Kapoor starts filming Rohit Shetty's Singham Again in Hyderabad

Kareena Kapoor Khan has started filming for Rohit Shetty's action threequel Singham Again.

The upcoming film is the third instalment in Shetty's Cop Cinematic Universe following 2011's Singham and 2014's Singham Returns led by Ajay Devgn.

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan on Saturday started shooting for Singham Again, filmmaker Rohit Shetty's upcoming instalment in his cop cinematic universe. The film reunites Kapoor with Shetty for the fourth time having previously worked with the director on Golmaal 3 (2010) and Singham Returns.

Alongside Devgn who plays the titular character, the ensemble cast also includes: Ranveer Singh as Simmba, Akshay Kumar as Sooryavanshi, and Deepika Padukone as police officers. 

Local outlet Pinkvilla reported that Kumar has now arrived in Hyderabad, India to commence shooting for his cameo role. 

Their source stating: "Akshay Kumar has already reached Hyderabad to shoot for Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. He will start shooting for his week-long schedule from 9th October. Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranveer Singh are already shooting for the much-awaited film at Hyderabad's Ramoji Filmcity. The entire team is leaving no stone unturned to make this cop universe bigger. Fans are definitely in for a visual treat."

On Monday, Khan shared a glimpse behind the scenes of the film Singham Again on social media, which sees the star with her back to the camera amid a blasted car. Khan's captioned read: “Do I need to say who I am shooting for? P.S-He is one of my most favorite directors.. This is my fourth film with him…and ofcourse not the last … Ready Steady Go… @itsrohitshetty.”

The updates come a few weeks after Shetty shared auspicious photos of production start, as he reminisced about the journey of his Cop Universe on social media.

“Singham, Singham returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi… 12 Years ago, when we made Singham, we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming Singham Again... the 5th film in our cop franchisee. ISME HUM APNI JAAN LAGA DENGE! BAS AAPKE PYAAR AUR DUA KI ZAROORAT HAI!," his caption read. 

The filmmakers announced the film will release next year on Independence Day, August 15, 2024.
