Samuel L Jackson and Boyd Holbrook's new movie sets filming date

Filming on Last Meals is set to begin on November 28 in Atlanta, Georgia, having landed a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement. It stars Boyd Holbrook and Samuel L Jackson in the lead roles, with Kelly Reilly and David Strathairn in talks to join.

Kenny Leon (Fences) is set to direct, with Joshua Boone and Theo Rossi also joining the cast. The film, based on the 2016 screenplay by Justin Piasecki (Relay), follows a former White House chef Walter (Jackson) who, with his career ending in disgrace, now cooks meals in a prison. 

He befriends Reed (Holbrook), a prisoner on hunger strike protesting his innocence, which Walter comes to believe. Walter joins forces with Hannah (Reily) to take on the prison head (Strathairn) while bringing a new sense of life to the prison's other inmates (Rossi, Boone, and others).

Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin are producing for Sentient, alongside Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary of Revelations Entertainment, Gary Luchessi and Michael McKay.
