Under the Stars in the Sky is a biopic drama about one of Denmark's biggest musical personalities and will begin production in Spring 2024.
Tommy Seebach, who represented Denmark three times in the Eurovision Song Contest, will be portrayed by Danish comedian and rapper Anders Matthesen.
The film tells the story of Seebach's rise to fame after participating in the Danish Song Grand Prix with the hit "Disco Tango" in 1979, and also as a father whose addiction moved him away from his wife and children.
SF Studios announced the film, which is being directed by Kasper Gaardsøe (The Rain and DNA), from a script by Jannik Tai Mosholt and Stefan Jaworski.
Under the Stars in the Sky, which takes its name from Denmark's 1993 Eurovision Song Contest entry, is being produced by Christian Potalivo and Asta Stuhr for Tall and Small.
SF Studios is co-producing and distributing the film in the Nordic countries. The film has received support from the Danish Film Institute and FilmFyn, with co-financing provided by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
