All That’s Left Of You, the upcoming drama from Palestinian-American filmmaker Cherien Dabis, will not return to Palestine to finish filming.

Dabis, who is known for her work on Only Murders in the BuildingOzark, and the 2009 Cannes award-winner Amreeka, was set to shoot the feature in Palestine but relocated after the October 7 attack from Hamas and subsequent Israeli retaliation.

Production had been previously scheduled in Cyprus but plans to return to Palestine to film across different cities including Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Haifa have been cancelled. Due to the ongoing conflict, filming will now wrap before the end of the year in Cyprus.

Saleh Bakri and Adam Bakri are set to in All That’s Left Of You, recently revealed by our sister site Screen where the production news was also reported.

Salah is known for Cannes award-winner The Blue Caftan and The Teacher. Adam made his feature debut in Hany Abu-Assad’s Oscar-nominated Omar and award-winning Toronto 2022 title A Gaza Weekend.

Mohamed Hefzy, who co-produces for Egypt’s Film Clinic, told Screen: “We wanted to shoot in Palestine, but it isn’t possible anymore.” He described the film as “an historic epic, which tells the story of Palestine and how we got to where we are today”.

The film is a co-production between Germany’s Pallas Film and Twenty Twenty Vision, Cyprus’ AMP Filmworks and Palestine’s Fresco Films.
