The winners often predict Oscar wins later in the year

The Art Directors Guild has revealed its nominees for the 28th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards.

Films are divided into three categories: Fantasy, Period and Contemporary. TV series are divided into more categories including fantasy, drama, contemoprary one hour single-series, TV movie or limited series, half hour comedy series, multi-camera series, variety or reality series, and variety specials. There are also awards for commercials, and short format and music videos.

Feature Film Production Design Awards winners have gone on to win the Academy Award for Art Direction/Production Design 18 out of the 27 times.

To be eligible, a Feature Film, Television Program, Commercial or Music Video that is made in the U.S. or Canada must be produced under an IATSE agreement. International entries are accepted without restrictions.

Winners will be announced February 10 at Ovation Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom.
