Pedro Almodóvar's next movie to film in Madrid and New York

Pedro Almodóvar's first English language film, The Room Next Door, will begin production in the Spring.

The additional casting of Julianne Moore was announced via Almodóvar's production company El Deseo's Instagram. She joins Tilda Swinton and John Turturo, the latter of whom is in an undisclosed role.

In March, filming will take place in Madrid, Spain and New York City, US.

The plot revolves around a mother (Swinton), a war reporter, and her daughter who are feuding after a misunderstanding. Moore plays the mother’s friend, a novelist. According to a statement, the film will address “the limitless cruelty of wars, the very different ways in which the two writers approach reality and write about it. It will also turn on death, friendship, and sexual pleasure as the best allies to fight horror.”
