Netflix greenlights Duffer Brothers' 'Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen'

Netflix has announced a series order for Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, an upcoming horror series executive produced by The Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt, via their Upside Down Pictures.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is created by Haley Z. Boston, who will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Andrea Sperling will also executive produce via her overall deal with Netflix.

The series is "an atmospheric horror" set at a wedding, which follows a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials.

The Duffer Brothers are currently in production on the final season of Stranger Things, as well as serving as creative producers on the Olivier Award-winning West End production Stranger Things: The First Shadow. They created Upside Down Pictures with Leavitt in 2022.

Upside Down Pictures first project is the upcoming series The Boroughs which is set to begin production in the autumn in New Mexico. They are also currently developing a live-action series adaptation of the manga Death Note.
