The production and service company aims to attract international projects to Ireland

Showrunner Jamie D’Alton and producer Shane Byrne have launched Diffusion Media, a Dublin-based production and production service company.
Diffusion Media specialises in entertainment, factual content and studio shows, and will offer production services to international productions filming in Ireland.
D'Alton will serve as managing director with Byrne as creative director and plan to attract international productions to Ireland. The company will capitalise on the country’s reputation as a location for unscripted content and will likely benefit from the Irish government’s proposed unscripted tax credit.
Diffusion Media's first commission is To Hell & Back, commissioner by RTÉ. The show follows A-list celebrities as they take on extreme outdoor adventures in inhospitable environments.
D'Alton's credits include Emmy-winning documentary The Deepest Breath for Netflix, Conor McGregor: Notorious, DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland, Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week, and films I Am Immigrant and Man On A Mission. D'Alton has left his role as managing director of independent production company Motive Television.
Byrne left his role as head of entertainment at Dublin-based Bigger Stage, where he managed a slate of US unscripted productions filmed in Ireland such as Next Level Chef, Beat Shazam and The Floor. He served as showrunner on four series of Name That Tune. His other credits include reality formats Big Brother, Britain’s Got Talent, The Circle and Strictly Come Dancing.
