Tom Cruise has returned to the United Arab Emirates to film another stunt for his upcoming action sequel Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

The actor/producer filmed a parachute jump from a military aircraft 25,000 feet over Abu Dhabi for a stunt sequence that will last two minutes in the finished film.

Shooting took place a few weeks after the official wrap of principal photography on the movie. It is the sixth Mission: Impossible film.

Cruise previously shot on location in Dubai for a centrepiece stunt for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 2011, where he performed aerial acrobatics from the Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest building.

Abu Dhabi, over which Cruise’s latest stunt was filmed, is the only emirate city to offer formal filming incentive support.

Emirati service company twofour54 recently announced plans to set up a new Studio City in Abu Dhabi that will increase local production capacity by 30% within the next 18 months.

JJ Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, a co-producer on the Mission: Impossible franchise, has also been involved with UAE shoots for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Trek Beyond.

Production for Mission: Impossible – Fallout was based in London but also filmed key stunt work in New Zealand, where Cruise piloted a helicopter for an aerial chase sequence.
