Vehicle brand Jeep worked with boutique Dubai-based company Tomorrow Film Agency to shoot a single-day ad near the emirate city.
The Wild As You Are campaign promotes two separate Jeep vehicles and necessitated access to different filming environments in just a few hours.
“Jeep was filmed in an area located in the emirate of Sharjah, which is just 50 minutes’ drive from Dubai,” says Antonio Sabatella, a producer with Tomorrow Film Agency, in comments to KFTV.
“We needed to shoot two cars, which have quite different playgrounds: the Wrangler Sahara, a desert car, and the Wrangler Rubicon, which is hard-core off-road.
“The ‘latitude’ of the locations in an area of barely five kilometres [across] was amazing – we could play with a mountaintop – the Real Jeepers Mountain (a local driving resort) – where we could film aerials of the Rubicon ‘on top of the world’.
“We had a great abandoned stone quarry at the mountain base. We had beautiful rugged gravel paths – all for the Rubicon – and we had some really big dunes just beside [it], which were the playground for the Sahara and looked amazing at sunset.
“The proximity really helped in maximising the shoot time and achieving many high-profile action shots.”
Dubai is a popular Middle Eastern filming location, offering producers bespoke incentive packages.
