Amazon Studios has started production in New Jersey on Chemical Hearts starring Lili Reinhart.
The film is adapted from Krystal Sutherland’s coming-of-age novel Our Chemical Hearts, about 17 year-old Henry Page who finds himself falling in love for the first time with an unlikely candidate.
Reinhart, best-known for Riverdale, stars in the feature that is written and directed by Richard Tanne.
Jamin O’Brien executive produces alongside Reinhart. Chemical Hearts is an Amazon Original produced for Amazon Prime Video.
A Sopranos prequel movie also filmed in New Jersey earlier this year, directed by Alan Taylor.
New Jersey Economic Development Authority board recently approved four film and television productions for tax credits totalling nearly $6.2 million, with individual awards ranging from $77,000 to more than $3 million through the New Jersey Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Program.
The state launched the tax credit scheme last summer.
