Netflix launches $1m East Africa film & TV scholarship

Netflix has launched a $1m scholarship fund for film and TV students in the East African region.

The Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund (CESF) delivers financial support through full scholarships at partner higher educational institutions in Kenya to support the training and qualification of aspiring TV and film creatives from East African countries. The fund covers costs for tuition, accommodation, study materials, and living expenses.

Students from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan will be eligible, with the scholarship available to students who have obtained admission to study in various film & TV-focused courses, for the 2022 academic year. The partner institutions include Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI), Kenya Film School (KFS), KCA University, Kenyatta University, and United States International University Africa (USIU).

Applications are now open until 22 April.
