Production is currently underway in New Mexico on JJ Abrams' upcoming crime thriller series, Duster.

The HBO Max TV show is a 1970s-set drama from Abrams and LaToya Morgan (Into the Badlands, The Walking Dead). Rachel Hilson (Love, VictorThis Is Us) and Josh Holloway, who collaborated with Abrams on Lost, lead the cast.

It takes place in 1972 where the first Black female FBI agent (Hilson) ventures to the Southwest and recruits a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway), in an effort to take down a growing crime syndicate.

The cast also features Keith David , Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez and Benjamin Charles Watson.

The New Mexico Film Office recently announced that production is taking place in Albuquerque, Moriarty, Belen, Gallup, Sandia Pueblo and Laguna Pueblo areas.

The series’ first season will run for eight episodes. Abrams and Morgan penned the first two instalments, which Steph Green (Watchmen, The Americans) directed. Abrams and Morgan (whose TinkerToy Productions has an overall deal with Warner Bros TV) executive produce, with Bad Robot’s Rachel Rusch Rich; Green is an EP on the first two episodes.
