Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 3 sets production date

Star Studios' Jolly LLB 3 will start production in early 2024 following confirmed pre-production at the end of this year. 

Jolly LLB is a series of Indian Hindi-language courtroom black comedy drama films, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. The original film released in 2013, followed by a 2017 sequel.

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi will start filming the third instalment in February, 2024 in Madhya Pradesh, India for a two-month long shoot.

Pinkvilla reports that Kapoor has completed the screenplay and will start pre-production at the end of this year.

"The third installment presents a clash between good and evil within the context of a courtroom. Like its previous parts, Jolly LLB 3 will also offer an engaging courtroom drama with the perfect blend of humor, suspense, and a pertinent social issue for debate. The director has ingeniously crafted a storyline that justifies the presence of both Jollys, and they are excited about returning to the courtroom setting after a six-year hiatus," reports Pinkvilla, adding that Saurabh Shukla, who played Judge Tripathi in previous movies, will reprise his role for the threequel.

Ahead of Jolly LLB 3 however, Kumar and Warsi will collaborate on Firoz Nadiadwala's Welcome 3.

The outlet also reports that the Welcome franchise is being rebooted with renewed cast and characters, boasting a star-studded cast including: Kumar, Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani in lead roles.

The adventure comedy, titled Welcome to the Jungle, is expected to enter production around November 2023 for a December 2024 theatrical release.

Kumar has several films scheduled over the next two years. He has already completed production on four films including: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, The Great Indian Rescue, the Soorarai Pottru remake, and the C. Shankaran Nair biopic, and is currently filming Dinesh Vijan's aerial action thriller, Sky Force, in Sitapur.

Following completion of Sky Force, Kumar will shoot for Mudassar Aziz's Khel Khel Mein in London, followed by Welcome 3 and Jolly LLB 3.

Jolly LLB is slated for theatrical release in December, 2024.
