Bollywood megastar Amir Khan is set to make a comeback after announcing his final outing as an actor with Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022.

Actor-producer Khan is set to return to the silver screen after his recent setback in the form of Forrest Gump Indian remake Laal Singh Chaddha. The film from director Advait Chandan received mixed reviews from critics.

Since the film's release in August 2022, the actor hadn't announced any project. However, according to film trade insider Taran Adarsh an upcoming film under the star's production house, Aamir Khan Productions is in the works.

Khan's next film which is currently untitled has secured a Christmas 2024 release date. The film will reportedly start filming in January 2024, and is already in pre-production.

Posting to X, Adarsh tweeted: "#Xclusiv… AAMIR KHAN LOCKS CHRISTMAS 2024 FOR NEXT FILM… Aamir Khan Productions’ Prod No. 16 [not titled yet], starring #AamirKhan in the lead role, to release on 20 Dec 2024 #Christmas2024."

He added: "Pre-production of the film is ongoing and the film goes on floors on 20 Jan 2024… More details to follow soon."

Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, which chronicled the events in India's history — from the Emergency and the famous Cricket World Cup win to the Punjab riots — unfold from the perspective of an innocent Sikh man Laal Singh Chaddha, a person with a low IQ but high optimism. Laal is able to achieve everything under the sun but his childhood love continues to elude him.

Alongside Khan, the film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and was filmed at more than 3 locations. Among them India Gate in New Delhi, India.

According to Sceen It, the film was shot in more than 100 locations in India including Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu among others.
